Free Multivitamins for Healthy Kids

Rivergate Pharmacy offers free daily vitamins for kids ages 12 and under. Vitamins are substances that are essential for normal growth and nutrition. They are found in the foods we eat. However, if our children aren’t getting an optimal diet, a multivitamin will make sure they are getting enough vitamins to function properly, so they can grow and develop like they should. Our free kids complete multivitamin contains Vitamins A, B, C, D, and E.

Each vitamin affects us in different ways:

Vitamin A
Most known for helping us to see at night, vitamin A comes handy for trick-or-treaters on Halloween! It plays an important role in vision and bone growth. It helps to prevent skin disorders like acne, wrinkling and age spots. Vitamin A also protects our immune systems and helps against colds, flu, and infections.

Vitamin B
The many B vitamins helps with memory, concentration, judgment, learning, and preventing mental deterioration. They help us cope with stress and allows us to get a good nights sleep. They help us fight off infections, lower cholesterol and improve circulation. They also help us make energy and use it when it is needed. So next time you are biking, thank your B vitamins!

Vitamin C
This vitamin helps in several ways: fighting off harmful effects of pollution, stress, and preventing cancer and infections. It boosts our immune system and protects us from bruising while promoting the healing of wounds. It helps with growth of teeth, gums, bones, ligaments, and blood vessels. Lots of sailors and pirates long time ago got scurvy and lost their teeth because they didn’t get enough vitamin C!

Vitamin D
Bone and tooth formation, as well as muscle and thyroid gland function, benefit from vitamin D. It is necessary for allowing our bodies to absorb and use calcium and phosphorous. It is especially important in children because of its benefits in growth and development of bones and teeth. Vitamin D is also important for preventing and treating breast and colon cancer, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and hypocalcemia. Many people don’t get enough vitamin D. The body uses sunlight to make vitamin D but it cannot make enough if not enough time is spent out in the sun. Your older self will thank you for getting plenty of vitamin D.

Vitamin E
Important in preventing cancer, heart disease, and strokes, vitamin E also slows aging, improves circulation, reduces wound scars, reduces blood pressure, promotes healthy skin and hair, protects against diseases, and improves mental health.

All of these vitamins are contained in the free Kids Complete Multivitamin at Rivergate Pharmacy. The chewable tablet is to be taken once a day. The kids most in need of vitamin supplements are those who aren’t eating regular well-balanced meals, kids who aren’t eating enough, kids with chronic medical conditions such as asthma, very active kids who play demanding sports, kids who eat lots of fast food, kids who are vegetarians, and kids who drink lots of soda.

Other Things To Consider

Megavitamins, or large doses of vitamins, aren’t good for children either. Too much vitamin A, D, and E, can be toxic to kids if they are taking excessive amounts. It is possible to have too much of a good thing. If you are unsure about the amount to give your child, consult with your doctor or your pharmacist.

It is good to help kids find a balance of vitamins from their diet and supplements so that they can live healthy lives. Stop by Rivergate Pharmacy and enroll your children in our Multivitamin For Kids program. It’s free. Their future selves will thank you for making them take their vitamins!
